Life Update – October 18, 2021

Hello, everyone! How are you all doing? Well, I hope!

I’m… definitely doing better than I was a while ago. And as I had promised, I’m back with a short life update, since I don’t really have much more to write about right now!

1- I’m still recovering from losing my relationship with my ex. We had been together in some capacity (as friends, then lovers, then friends again, then lovers again, then… nothing) since 2013. It’s a long time to just… stop. What happened, now that I can talk about it without sobbing, was that she had a situation that caused brain damage and erased all of her memories from ten years past. We went from talking about marriage to her not even knowing who I am. It’s still painful as hell, but that’s what happened, and I lied when I said I wasn’t going to cry.

2- Since it seems like this is ex week, another ex (who kindly got someone else pregnant while we were dating) decided to pop back into my email and ask if I still live in the same place (I don’t, thank heavens). I answered him because I’m too curious for my own good. I guess we’ll see what happens.

3- Finally got to take a week off work, so I’ll be out of state next week. We’re spending three full days in a city I’ve never been to before, so I’m excited for that. I’ll report back once I’m back home and rested.

4- Still working on losing some weight (I’ve dropped 48-ish pounds already, still got around 37 to go) and trying to remember it’s worth it. I confess I freaked out a bit (a lot) when I saw the loose skin on some parts of my body, but it seems like it can be fixed or improved, so we’ll see about that. Gotta keep working on reaching that healthy weight.

5- My hair is almost down to my shoulders again, and I’m torn between growing it out a little or chopping it all off again because it’s so damn hot right now here in Brazil. I guess I’ll have to give it some thought.

Well, I guess that’s it for today. Nothing spectacular or very interesting, but there you all have it, the promised text post. I might still drop another one (text or image) before my trip!

See you when I see you!

    1. Thank you so much and I’m sorry about your father! My grandmother on my father’s side had Alzheimer’s for her last years, and she forgot who most of her children were. It’s really hard to watch someone go through that. Thank you so much again!

  1. My good thoughts to you. You are strong and you will overpass this grief. I am well again (or almost, I understand some cough and tiredness will still be with me for a while) and trying to pick up my life after my mother’s death.

  2. Sorry to hear about losing your love. That just sucks… no other way to put it. All I can say is that time helps you get past it. Hang in there.
Congrats on the weight loss. I need to do something about that myself. I could certainly shed some tonnage.
Glad to hear about your vacation. It sounds like you need one. It is definitely a good thing to change the scenery and unplug from regular life now and then. Good for you.
Catch ya on the next post :-)

    1. Oh, my, it really does suck. Loss is part of life, but nobody expects it to happen like this. I know I’ll come out on the other side, but it’s probably going to take a while.
Ha, the tonnage thing gave me a chuckle. I had been stalling to do that, but I’ve run out of excuses, so working out it is.
And I really need a vacation. I’ve timed it so I’ll be away from home for pretty much the entire duration, the change of airs will go me good, I hope.
See you on the next post – yours or mine!
